House Completes Work on Agriculture Appropriations Bill

To Members of the NASULGC Family:

The House of Representatives considered and gave final approval to H.R. 2673, the F.Y. 2004 Agriculture Appropriations bill yesterday. There was little discussion of CSREES programs during the floor debate, with the exception of an amendment successfully offered by Rep. Artur Davis (D-AL) to restore facilities ($1.5M) and capacity building ($2.0M) funds for the 1890s land-grant universities.

Senate Action Imminent
The Senate Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee is scheduled to markup its version of the F.Y. 2004 USDA spending bill later today. As soon as the BRT has information from that markup we will pass it along to you.
