Senate Bill Introduced to Implement
Danforth Report
|
|
To Members of the NASULGC System:
Four influential senators: Bond (R-MO), Mikulski (D-MD), Bennett
(R-UT), and Harkin (D-IA) jointly introduced S. 3009 on November
19 to create a new division of food and agricultural science
within the National Science Foundation. This legislation reflects
many of the recommendations made by the panel chaired by Dr. Bill
Danforth for creation of a National Institute for Food and
Agriculture. A copy of Senator Bond's introductory remarks and the
text of S. 3009 have been posted to the nasulgc-bac.com Web site
