Senate Bill Introduced to Implement Danforth Report

To Members of the NASULGC System:

Four influential senators: Bond (R-MO), Mikulski (D-MD), Bennett (R-UT), and Harkin (D-IA) jointly introduced S. 3009 on November 19 to create a new division of food and agricultural science within the National Science Foundation. This legislation reflects many of the recommendations made by the panel chaired by Dr. Bill Danforth for creation of a National Institute for Food and Agriculture.
