Senate Appropriations Committee Approves Ag Bill

To Members of the NASULGC System:

The Senate Appropriations Committee approved the F.Y. 2007 Agriculture Appropriations bill at a markup session earlier today. We can now confirm the following Senate numbers with respect to the BAC's priorities:

As you can see, the BAC's priorities appear to have fared very well to this point in the Senate. The only exception is the Insular Areas program that the BAC has fought hard to have funded during the past several years. Rest assured, we will continue to fight hard for this critical program as the Ag Appropriations bill moves on to the Senate floor and the House-Senate Conference Committee.
